Gabions on the coast in Sint-Idesbald coated with Abcite®
Between the beach and the dunes in Saint Idesbald, apartment buildings were built in 2014. To protect the accompanying gabions from marine corrosion, abrasion by sea sand and UV radiation from the bright coastal light, the architect did not opt for a conventional powder coating.
A high-quality 400 µ thick Abcite® coating was chosen and applied by swirl sintering. This technique, in which the metal is immersed in a bath of swirling thermoplastic powder, assures the customer that a pore-free coating is achieved everywhere.
